Long time in processing insurance claim. I am a travel agent in Albuquerque, New Mexico. My client was

unable to take trip to Greece in February and she filed a claim

for a refund due to the flue. She submitted letter from her dr. with

the claim. She has yet to receive her refund. How long does it

take for this refund. Please call me. My client's Claim Number is

645****. Her name is Frances Lujan and her birth date is 9/24/51.

Your prompt attention to this matter would be greatly appreciated.

This claim was filed in February.

Great Value Vacations offers two travel protections plans. Plan 1 allows you to cancel your trip and receive a credit for future travel that equals the sum you have paid, minus the fees related to the Travel Protection Plan that are not refundable at any time, provided that you cancel the trip up to 72 hours before departure. The plan does not apply to Escorted, Cruise, Golf, Rail and/or Group Vacations. These types of vacations are covered by Travel Protection Plan 2.

According to the Great Value Vacations Important Travel Information sheet, the company will not refund for:
  • Unused services.
  • Any additional charges that may occur due to lack of proper documentation on your end. If you miss your outbound flight, as the airline holds the right to cancel all subsequent flights.
  • Transfers from and to the airport and/or hotel if you decide to deviate from the trip departure/arrival dates.
  • Arriving late for your flight which results in being denied boarding.
  • Missed days unless your Travel Protection plan makes you eligible for a refund.
  • Late returns or not used car rentals and all supplemental fees (i.e., gas, insurance coverage, etc.).

Once paid your travel arrangements are non-refundable as we have secured and made payments for your reservations and services. Airlines and hotels are very strict with cancellation policies in order to reduce administration and continue to provide competitive rates. The company highly recommends purchasing our Travel Protection Plan in order to protect your investment from unforeseen circumstances.

According to the Great Value Vacations Terms & Conditions, VIP Express Insurance on car rentals is available to be booked prior to departure at a discounted rate. This coverage will confirm a "zero" deductible, walk-away policy covering any damage to the vehicle. The company strongly recommends purchasing VIP Express Insurance at time of booking. If you choose not to take the VIP Express Insurance you will be held fully responsible for any damage to the rental vehicle. You will have unlimited third party insurance as part of the package but this will not cover any damage to your rental vehicle should you decline to purchase the VIP Express insurance. 


Driver Supplements are as follows and must be paid to car rental company at the time of the car pickup in Ireland:

  • Minimum age: 21 years through 24 years - There is an insurance surcharge of €30 per day plus tax.
  • Maximum age: There is no maximum age for drivers in Ireland; however, all drivers aged 71 years or more must rent an "automatic transmission" vehicle. They must also produce their insurance policy which states they have coverage in their home country
  • Additional driver charge - approximately €10 per day plus tax

Great Value Vacations - Is there an agent at the airport?When we used Apple - we got to the airport and there was an Apple Vacations employee waiting for us and he helped load our stuff up and get us on a bus. is there anything like that with GVV or are we completely on our own?

According to the Great Value Vacations Terms & Conditions, airport transfers can be added at time of bookings on qualifying flights and dates. Not all flights qualify. Customers not using the Tour Operator transfers will be solely responsible for arriving at port by time of departure.
